This is a stall that has been selling this traditional dish since 1959. They have relocated several times and are currently on the lower floor of Dunman Food Center. They sell only one item: Tau Kwa pau. Essentially, it’s a deep-fried beancurd, that’s partially opened up and filled with a mixture of sliced up fish balls, fried yam fritters, egg, duck and pork belly. The fish comes with a braised sauce that you drizzle over the dish. A chilli dip is also given. This is old school and I remember having this in my younger days. Recommended! 👍🏻👍🏻😋

Tau kwa pau is a rare dish, flavours come from the braising sauce for the duck. Added fried fishball and fried yam similarly doused in the braising sauce. The taste is well balanced, only thing is that the items are not fried to order, hence served at room temperature. Chilli dip goes well with all the ingredients.

Love the old school nostalgia taste. Chilli pairs well with the tau kau paus. I kept thinking a bowl of piping hot congee with plate of chicken & innards from neighboring Rong Ji stall will complement and complete the meal plus balanced off the savory level. I’m used to more bland food so most others who dine out frequently will probably find the savory level just nice. Thank you for my delish snacks cum light meal.
