This is the same stall as the former Cheese Curry Puff. We did a comparison of cheese puffs with the almost next doors What The Puff! The bottom one is from Chef Curry Puff. The weight is roughly the same with the rival. The pastry tastes slightly lighter, a little crispier than What The Puff! But less rich. The cheese used seems to be a type of mozzarella, in stick form. With one bite you taste the cheese, and you achieve a photogenic cheese pull. The curry is on the sweeter side, a supporter of the cheese flavour. Because the cheese flavour stood out more, I recommend this stall rather than its rival in terms of the cheese puff.
Big in size no doubt. 3/4 filled with potatoes and 1/4 shared between the egg and chicken. Curry not fragrant enough, spice underwhelming. Dough is light and clean.
To me the best curry puff in 216 food centre (better than its neighbour in my humble opinion) and possibly also in the bedok north area. I always go for the curry cheese and orh nee puff. If you're lucky to get a curry cheese that's fresh out of the oven, you'll get that cheese pull but likely to burn your mouth. Even when it's cold, the puff still tastes really good. My current go-to when I need to satisfy that curry puff craving.
$2 for the regular curry. Skin is thin and a nice curry flavour.
I feel that this is better than Old Chang Kee, the curry chicken puff has chunks of potatoes and also a quarter hard-boiled egg. These curry puffs are handmade but they are equal in size. I also tried the chicken pie puff, inside it has …
Impressive. Absolutely delicious curry puffs generously filled to the thin crust edges yet so perfectly constructed and tightly packed. Felt like I was having a mini bowl of sardines and curry with pastry on the side. Even the less common …
Did a A / B of curry puff this morning purchased from Blk 216 Bedok food centre. Although Chef Curry puff is not as good looking, it actually tasted much better. You can taste the ingredients clearly - chicken, potato, egg as opposed to …
i’m typing this while eating the yam puff, not sure if it’s limited run but ITS SO GOOD! i am a taro fanatic, this didn’t disappoint & it’s worth the extra calories. will return to 216 hawker just for this.
freshly made by hand for each and every one of the puff! tried the original, sardine and yam. the crust for all were consistent and the fillings in each was very generous! …
Its sitting almost side by side with another stall call what the puff. I manage to try this, and of course the cheese puff. …
