Donkey and I were cycling through Changi, searching for lunch, when we stumbled upon Changi Village Fried Hokkien Mee. Unfortunately, the Hokkien Mee was a letdown. It lacked the essential "wok hei," tasted like pre-cooked noodles reheated, …

Today is the worst hokkien mee I have eaten, try 3 mouth and taste so weird, smelly and sour and i ask my 2 kid to taste and their feed back same as me smelly and sour, normally I eat hokkien mee I don't put chilli and the lime because i like original taste. Bring back to the stall and told the aunty the hokkien mee taste weird smelly and sour then she pour the whole plate into the dustbin and give me a new plate of hokkien mee. Again the taste stay same as smelly and sour, so this time round I keep quiet and choose not to continue eating, the aunty saw I not eating the hokkien mee, the aunty start to get angry and told me that nobody complaining the taste is weird, only I'm the special one that say is smelly and sour, so I told the aunty, I alway eat at your different outlet of hokkien mee, sembawang and woodland ave 11 and included changi V, and previous the 2 uncle cook is good and tasty. So I ask the aunty go try first before you sell to someone , aunty reply how you know I didn't try before? She say so many people eat and no complain at all. Siao de, I give money I don't want to eat is my problem and taste so bad how to eat, im sure the aunty know something is wrong with the broth, High chance the broth they use is overnight broth. Why nobody complain? I guess because other customer mix with chilli and lime, so they can't taste the smelly and sour hokkien mee. Anyone taste weird or sour like me?
Had late lunch at 15:30hrs. Ordered Hokkien Mee $6.00. The Hokkien Mee is just very normal and without much Wok Hey. Nothing will make me drive all the way there for it. If I just happen to be there, I may order it again if I have not had Hokkien Mee for a very long time and I am craving for the taste of Hokkien Mee

First time trying this fried prawn noodles after the stall took over from the white beehoon, and I’m impressed! The balance of taste is excellent — while it has slightly less wok hei compared to what many rave about, the broth more than …
