Updated review: Decided to give it another shot but I think it got worse than before. The dish is severely lacking in the umami and wok hei flavor that should be evident in fried hokkien mee. I usually prefer fried hokkien mee that is a little bit dry, but this version is unusually dry. Squeeze the lime to add a bit of an acidity into it for better flavour. Go for the chili on the side of you are feeling adventurous. Comes in 3 different sizes at $5, $6 or $8.

The dish looks better than it tastes. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad but it just did not wow. The sambal lacked the punch and umami from toasted belachan. The noodles while had some sort of taste but lacked the sweet prawn flavour that you’d get from fresh prawn stock.

Bought 2x $4 take-away hokkien noodles. Despite the presentation, it was nice and tasty. However.. i was quite disappointed by the amount of ingredients. I had: 2 prawns 3 thin slices of pork belly 3 little portions of squid Sigh.. id have given more stars for 1 or 2 more prawns and more squid. which i can usually find in other shops. Ah well. At least it was tasty.

Bought $8 portion for takeaway at a non-peak hour period. Disappointing quality and quantity. Other branches of this franchise did a slightly better job compared to this flagship stall. As evident in the photos, there was no wok hey and ingredients were at their minimum for an $8 order. Noodles tasted artificially sweet, without any unami flavour. Honestly, this is one of the worst fried hokkien mee I've ever had. My advice if you are reading this - don't waste your time and calories, eat something else instead.

First time trying the “changi” Hokkien mee, overpriced, too small portions for the $5/6 one Noodle was precook and kept in the pan, heat and stir. $8 portions so-so only, taste ok but no spring onions or pork lard. Restaurant portions even more better than this. Better buck up before becoming ex ci yuan hokkien mee

$5 portion. My wife took 2 mouthfuls before I took my 1st. Tasteless. I only taste chilli and lime. Very disappointing. Seems like false review by National papers.

I bought the large $8 portion, disappointed. Firstly it was mostly white noodles and little yellow noddle mix, strange combination. The taste was very underwhelming and lacking. Even adding the pork lard did not do much to improve the taste. Mixing in the chilli helped a little. Adding in anchovies from another nasi lemak dish helped a lot. At least we did not have to wait long despite a large wok being cooked. Will not eat again.
