Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong is selling its 2026 mooncake boxes as Mid Autumn Treasures, a Katong Collector's Edition. Early-bird pricing is 35 percent off until 11 September 2026. Self-collection at Baba Chews runs 25 August to 25 September, 11am to 9pm. After that date the boxes stop.
Each box holds four halal-certified baked mooncakes. You pick a pink display box or a blue one. The hotel's own page says the packaging is meant to flip into a display case after the cakes are eaten, a blind-box trick aimed at people who already collect figurines. That is a gimmick. The edible part is still classic lotus paste, plus two new fillings in the Premium Series.
What is actually in the boxes
Signature Collection A is $98 nett, $63.70 with the early-bird cut. Four pieces of double yolk white lotus with melon seeds. Signature Collection B is $92 nett, $59.80 early bird. Four single yolk white lotus with melon seeds. Signature Collection C is the same $92 / $59.80 band, mixed as two melon-seed white lotus, one double yolk, and one single yolk.
Premium Series is $98 nett, $63.70 early bird. One red dates with longan, one black sesame with peanut butter, one double yolk white lotus with melon seeds, and one single yolk. If you only buy one box this year, buy Premium. The two new flavours are the only reason this collection is not just another white-lotus four-pack with a pretty sleeve.
Orders are self-collection only. Put a pickup date and time in the order notes. The hotel is explicit: no refunds, no exchanges, first come first served. Collection is at Baba Chews, 86 East Coast Road, Katong Square, the ground-floor restaurant of the hotel.
If you are already in Katong, eat at Baba Chews too
The same kitchen is running a 2026 a la carte refresh. The hotel lists Nasi Lemak Risotto with King Prawn and Ayam Buah Keluak Fried Rice as the headline plates. A two-course executive set lunch is $28++. Baba's set lunch promo is from $15++. Weekend brunch pairs a main such as Chilli Crab Scramble or Kaya Brioche with a non-alcoholic drink from $22.90++. Afternoon tea is $16.80++ for coffee or TWG tea plus one dessert, Ondeh Ondeh Cake, Kueh Durian, or Chendol.
None of those lunch prices apply to the mooncake boxes. The boxes are nett. The restaurant bills are plus plus. Do not mix the two when you budget a pickup-and-lunch trip. Marine Parade MRT is the closest station. Walk toward East Coast Road and Katong Square. If you miss 11 September, full price still runs until collection ends on 25 September. After 25 September there is no box left to argue about.
Mid-Autumn this year falls in the same window as the early-bird cutoff, so the cheap boxes will not sit around. Buy if you need a Katong-labelled gift that is actually baked here, not a mall hamper assembled in a warehouse. Skip it if you want snowskin or durian. This collection is baked lotus, yolks, and two dessert-leaning Premium fillings.
