Handmade pau stall at Old Airport Road Food Centre with fluffy steamed buns.
Rong Yi Local Handmade Pau is a pau (steamed bun) stall at Old Airport Road Food Centre, known for its handcrafted, fluffy steamed buns filled with a variety of traditional savoury and sweet stuffings. The stall prides itself on making its pau by hand, resulting in a softer, more tender skin than machine-produced alternatives, with fillings such as char siew, chicken, and red bean that are well-seasoned and generously portioned. Its stall number #01-01 places it at the entrance of the food centre, making it one of the first stalls diners encounter. The menu includes classic char siew pau, big pau (large buns with mixed meat and egg filling), vegetable pau, and sweet lotus paste pau, sold individually or in bundles for takeaway. Prices are competitive within the food centre, and the handmade quality justifies a slight premium over factory-made alternatives. The stall suits pau lovers who appreciate the difference that handcrafted preparation makes in texture and flavour. Find Rong Yi Local Handmade Pau at 51 Old Airport Rd, #01-01, Singapore 390051. Super rude auntie. Ask to use PayNow but she gave me an attitude and told me minimum 2 paus to use PayNow. This wasn’t written anywhere. Also, what if I wanted to order the Big Pau? That’s more expensive as well. Took my money and left. Won’t be back!

Overrated. Chicken and coffee pau so so only.

Nice pau hawker stall in Old Airport Road Food Centre. This is the first stall visible in the hawker centre. Seems like it's run by an old friendly aunty. Ordered the char siew pau and the unique coffee pau. Both were good. The coffee pau leaves a nice coffee aftertaste.

I had a craving for old school Fan Choy and chanced upon it at Rong Yi Local Handmade Pau located at the corner of the Old Airport Road Food Centre. Fan Choy is a traditional dim sum dish item consisting of steamed glutinous rice, topped with ingredients like char siew(BBQ pork), a sliced of hard-boiled egg, all steamed together to create a flavorful meal. While enjoying my brunch, had a conversation with the owner's children Jenny who is helping her parents. They have been here for more than 10 years and has a good following of customers from the nearby housing estates. I also observed they were very polite, the service to their customers is good. The stall is very well maintained and clean.
