Mini Chive Soon Kueh really lacked flavour other than a palm oil taste… tastes like it’s from frozen. For $1 each i would not recommend anyone to get these.

Should not pack keep and close box. See the pic, bgt 4 boxes from the mdm at 5pm, reach home at 6pm. The kueh all turn sticky. Not fresh. Sigh throw away.

If you are a curry puff lover, this is one worthy one to go for. While there is another more famous curry puff stall at the same Food Centre, I find this one more balanced and to my liking - with a pastry of right thickness and crispness, and savoury filling that is just right in terms of the amount and flavour.

But to do so with Genie Go would be a genuine mistake. Specializing in traditional handmade snacks, this stall offers a beautiful, comforting bite of Singapore's culinary heritage. I managed to snag their very last box of the day—a wonderful medley of mini Ku Cai Kuay and mini Soon Kuay. This smaller size proved perfect for sampling and affirmed the high quality of their craft. Let's be clear: while I wouldn't call them the absolute, hands-down best kuehs I've ever tasted, they are unquestionably good and deserving of a high recommendation. The Star: Mini Ku Cai Kuay (Chive) The mini Ku Cai Kuay truly shone. For chive lovers, this is a beautiful rendition. The small size was a flawless two-bite snack, but the most striking thing was how the filling retained its vibrant green colour and surprising crunch. Often, the chives are overcooked into a limp, dark paste, but Genie Go ensures they keep their fresh, slightly peppery kick. This freshness is key! The skin was thin, delicate, and just sticky enough to hold the generous filling without tearing—a true mark of skilled craftsmanship. Paired with a dab of their chili, it was an addictive balance of fragrant spice and herbal brightness. The Classic: Mini Soon Kuay (Turnip) The mini Soon Kuay was equally satisfying. The filling of shredded turnip (jicama) was sweet and savory, perfectly seasoned with dried shrimp and perhaps a hint of oil to give it that essential, comforting umami depth. It’s a very clean-tasting kueh, not overly greasy. While I've had versions with perhaps a more aggressive smoky wok aroma, this one excels in its textural softness and harmonious balance of flavors, especially in the delightful mini format. What makes Genie Go highly recommended is their consistency and quality. These are not factory-made snacks; they are clearly handmade with care. Every miniature piece held its shape perfectly, the skins were thin and translucent, and the fillings were generous. Tip: Getting the mini assortment is fantastic for sharing or just trying both flavors in one go! In a competitive market like Old Airport Road, sometimes "unquestionably good" is more valuable than trying to be an erratic, one-hit wonder. Genie Go delivers a reliable, delicious, and authentic taste of Teochew and Hokkien snack culture. If you're craving traditional kueh in the East, this is an excellent, solid choice that will leave you feeling warm and satisfied. Highly Recommended!
