A part timer auntie, very pro-active, helped my elderly mother to re-active her un-used vouchers which my mother completely forgotten. We came in around 6pm+, crowd is filling the area but auntie is also patience to guide my elderly mother …

Food was awesome, been here several times. Duck skin was so crispy and meat tender and juicy. The staff serving were very professional and provided excellent service, the service staff attending to us was Yu Mei who provided excellent recommendations and clarifications

2026 February 25th Back here again and this time managed to get the claypot cauliflower. New dishes were all good. The thunder tea fried rice was a standout, both had the flavor and fragrance of thunder tea, and the wok hei of your go-to zhi char shop. The baby kailan salted fish and lime had a nod to Vietnamese fare, with quite a bit of pungent fish sauce, not quite standard in Singapore. We liked it! The claypot chicken was standard but well done. Dian Xiao Er's one of those Singapore brands that's stood the test of time. Practically an institution at this point, and thats because of it's consistent quality. Two thumbs up. 2026 February 10th Our experience this visit was decidedly ordinary. The shrimp paste cauliflower was out of stock! Regarding what, we had: I thought the shrimp paste did not pair well with chive blossoms. The Crispy Lotus Roots & Pumpkin in Salted Egg Sauce was decidedly ordinary. And the Crispy Chicken Thigh in Plum Sauce was quite poor. Plum sauce is a little dated and doesn't really gel with the more modern image Dian Xiao Er generally has, and there didn't seem to be anything more to the dish than put strong tasting sauce on chicken, wahlah, thats it. 2026 January Delighted with the meal this time especially with the new dish Shrimp Paste Cauliflower and enjoyed also the classic dish Deep Fried Spicy Diced Chicken. Highly recommend these two dishes 2025 Nov Solid restaurant chain with consistently good quality dishes. Their trademark herbal duck is as good as it ever was. Tofu was great, french fragrant. Even the free mushroom appetiser was well done. Many Singaporeans have had good experiences with this restaurant chain over time, and I'm no exception. Looking forward to this chain doing well going into the future. About friction points - The dinner sets weren't as worthit as I'd initially thought. I didn't like how the app didn't automatically sign us up given our phone number. So we missed out on loyalty points, that part didn't make us keen to come back.
