Standards have really dropped. Perhaps the couple running the stall are really getting on in years and can’t handle the long queues. The sauce was very watered down the past few times and it’s neither sweet enough …

Ah Wah Rojak is a long-standing rojak stall at Pasar 16@Bedok, serving the quintessential Singaporean fruit and vegetable salad drenched in a thick, sweet-savoury prawn paste. The stall is known for tossing a generous mix of you tiao (fried dough fritters), tau kwa, pineapple, cucumber, turnip, and bean sprouts in its signature heh ko (black prawn paste) sauce, finished with a dusting of crushed peanuts. Regulars appreciate the well-balanced sauce that avoids being cloyingly sweet while delivering a pungent, umami-rich kick. The menu stays focused on rojak in small and regular portions, with the option to customise ingredient ratios upon request. Pricing is modest and consistent with hawker-centre expectations, making it an easy choice for a light meal or shared side dish. If you like youtiao that is soft, the prawn paste sauce that is diluted, very little youtiao but many pineapples and cucumber, then you may like this rojak.

For me Cuttlefish, You Tiao & Tau Pok is the way to go here. Sauce isn’t too sweet, Chilli is Yummy!
