Famous kaya toast and kopi chain at Tampines Street 11.
Ya Kun Kaya Toast is one of Singapore's most famous kaya toast chains, and its Tampines Street 11 outlet continues a legacy that began in 1944 at the old Lau Pa Sat. The stall serves the iconic combination of crispy kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, and freshly brewed kopi that has become synonymous with Singapore's traditional breakfast culture. The kaya, a sweet coconut egg jam, is made using the same cherished recipe, slathered between thin, crispy slices of toast with a pat of butter for that irresistible sweet-salty contrast. The Tampines Street 11 location brings Ya Kun's heritage breakfast to the heart of the neighbourhood, serving morning regulars and families who appreciate the ritual of kopi and toast. Beyond breakfast, Ya Kun also offers a concise menu of local favourites including french toast, cheese toast, and teh tarik, making it a viable stop throughout the day. The brand's expansion across Singapore and beyond has made it one of the most recognised ambassadors of Singapore food culture worldwide. Visit Ya Kun Kaya Toast at 5 Tampines St 11, #01-10, Singapore 529308. Call 6781 8839 or visit yakun.com. Recommended by a friend. Came to try it myself. Wow. It was really good. Unlike others, this stall ensured that the eggs were fried crispy. If you are not local, try the oyster omelette first. The original orh lua is fried with a flour mix which may or may not be something foreigners are used to. Must eat with their chilli sauce which is quite mild. It is the vinegar in the chilli sauce that brings out the wonderful taste of the original fried oyster or the fried oyster omelette.

I always come back to Song Kee for their amazing oyster omelette (orh luak), and they never disappoint! The quality here is unbeatable. I always order the oyster omelette, and the star of the show is the oysters—they are consistently big, plump, and incredibly fresh! They really load up the dish, and the egg is perfectly crispy on the edges and soft inside. On top of the great food, the service is excellent. The auntie running the stall is always very polite and provides truly good service. Easily one of the best oyster omelettes in town! A definite must-try if you're craving some quality orh luak.

06/10/24 Overrated. Can hardly find any oysters within the egg. Even if there is one, it is pathetically small in size. Taste wise is just average.
