Basmati rice nasi lemak and standout lontong at Tampines Round Market, a family-run gem since 2017.
Nasi Lemak Specialist is a family-run hawker stall at Tampines Round Market that has earned a loyal following since its opening in 2017. Its unique use of basmati rice sets it apart — the grains are lighter, fluffier, and lower on the glycaemic index, yet still lemak thanks to freshly squeezed coconut milk. The Mega Value Nasi Lemak set comes loaded with fried egg, otah, begedil, anchovies, peanuts, and a standout homemade fried chicken wing with a distinctive crispy batter. Equally impressive is their lontong, praised for its thick, homestyle gravy and house-made rempah, alongside a tangy mee siam. Run by Mdm Mazwin and her son, the stall starts prepping at dawn to ensure everything is fresh and made from scratch. It is a morning-to-early-afternoon spot that rewards early birds. Make your way to Tampines Round Market and discover why this specialist keeps regulars coming back for more.Operating Hours

Friendly and nice stall owners, unsure why people wrote that they are rude. I find them accomodating and friendly. However, i cannot say the same for the food. Its below average and i cannot understand why there is non stop queue coming for this standards, and all the patrons are only chinese people. The nasi was coarse, hardly taste any coconut, pandan taste. Its not cold though but if it is, i would rather not write this review as it will be awful. Sambal was not great, if there is any taste in it will just be sugary. The wings tasted fine, coating is good enough they thawed it enough, or prolly i was lucky to get one thata thawed long enough before frying thus texture js not that stiff. It is very basic fanfare and starts at 4.00sgd, albeit not expensive but this standards are awful and will need a lot of changes to improve making it worth queueing. Also i realised despite the queue, a lot of people in front of me are buying mee rebeus, perhaps that should be their trademark contradictory to the name of the stall. If i ever passby again, i will try to go get the mee rebeus if there is no queue.

This is my first time trying this place; came across this while reading a food blog and was passing by. I wanted to order the mega value set but the otak was sold out, so ended up paying $4.80 for the chicken wing set and a begedil. Usually I'd ask for more sambal, but I didn't have to. It was generously served up on my plate of rice. Everything was super freshly prepared - rice was steaming, slightly wet, super flavourful. The egg was also served piping hot (it isn't in a lot of places). Ikan bilis and peanuts were crunchy and sambal tasted more to the sweet side, not super spicy. Ok - so far so good. Next I tried the chicken wing. It was super crispy despite it being the last thing on the plate I ate. Almost to the point where you can run your fork / spoon over it for ASMR sound. Taste-wise it was marinated beautifully. Crispy, juicy, flavourful. So good I almost wanted to order 1 more, but I held back. Overall, although this was only a simple $4.80 lunch, it brought me joy that was worth much more. I was shocked that this had only a 4.1 star review, but I hope I managed to pull this score up. On a separate note, I think the sold out (as of 12:35 - my time of writing this) so please come early.
