Comforting porridge with century egg, cuttlefish, and fish at Haig Road.
Loi Ming Porridge is a Haig Road market stall that has been serving comforting bowls of Cantonese-style porridge for years, opening bright and early at 6:30 am. Their porridge is boiled until smooth and velvety, then topped with ingredients like century egg, cuttlefish, fish slices, and pork, each combination offering a different dimension of flavour. The century egg and pork porridge is a standout, the creamy egg dissolving into the rice gruel for a rich, umami-laced bowl. The stall also offers raw fish slices as a side, adding a refreshing contrast to the warm porridge. Loi Ming is a morning institution in the Haig Road area, frequented by elderly residents and early risers who appreciate a simple, nourishing breakfast. The prices are very affordable, and the stall typically closes by early afternoon, so an early visit is essential. Visit Loi Ming Porridge at 14 Haig Rd, #01-49, Singapore 430014. For porridge that warms the soul, this Haig Road stall serves it the traditional way.Operating Hours

One of the best porridge around. Tasty, silky and fresh ingredients (I usually order pork only). Highly recommend a try if you are craving porridge!

Possibly the best porridge I have tasted. They use really good ingredients, and are particular even about their shallots. They also sell fried shallots in a bottle, which my wife loves. Only place I know where you add quite a bit of cuttlefish for 50 cents. Husband and wife are very friendly.
