Hainanese-style chicken chop and Western fare at Bedok North, continuing the Joo Chiat legacy.
Joo Chiat Chiap Kee at Bedok North Street 1 continues the legacy of a name rooted in Singapore's Joo Chiat neighbourhood, serving Hainanese-style Western food that represents one of Singapore's most distinctive culinary traditions. The stall is known for its Hainanese chicken chop, where tender marinated chicken is pan-fried and smothered in a tangy Worcestershire-based sauce, a dish that tells the story of Hainanese cooks adapting Western recipes for local palates. Each plate reflects the Hainanese Western tradition of combining Chinese cooking techniques with Western ingredients, creating dishes that exist nowhere else in the world but Singapore. The menu extends to other Hainanese Western classics like pork chop, fish and chips, and mixed grills, all served with sides of fries, coleslaw, and baked beans that complete the retro-Singaporean dining experience. The Bedok North coffee shop location brings this heritage cuisine to the heartlands, serving residents who appreciate that this style of food is uniquely Singaporean. For anyone who treasures the Hainanese Western tradition, Joo Chiat Chiap Kee is a keeper. Order the chicken chop, pour on the sauce, and taste a piece of Singapore's culinary history.Operating Hours

Fishballs are good. Noodles are slightly overcooked, soup is average, and though asked for more chilli, the taste is below average. If come for fishballs, it is recommended. Not worth the queue.

This family biz has not changed much over the years. Excellent fishball and well cooked noodles. The sisters attending the stall are very customer friendly, even though the queue is long, I don’t notice any unhappy faces. The experience is very pleasing. Worth the $4.00 experience.

After 30 mins in the queue, ordered the $3.50 dry & requested for less noodles. Stallholder says must mix with meatballs, cannot order solely fishballs only. I guess nobody wants to order the meatballs & fishballs stock is running low… …

Superb, now I understand the lines that form even before their official opening hours. For a basic $4 order of fish ball mee pok, you get a fish dumpling, 2 meatballs, and about 3 or 4 yellow-tail fish balls with the noodles. You can also …
