Famous chain serving smoky, spicy otah-otah grilled in banana leaves across Singapore.
Hougang Otah is one of Singapore's most recognised otah brands, with multiple outlets island-wide serving its signature banana leaf-grilled fish paste. The otah is known for its bold spice, smoky char, and a moist, springy texture that sets it apart from mass-produced versions. Each piece is freshly grilled, releasing an aromatic blend of chilli, lemongrass, and turmeric that wafts through the hawker centre. The menu is simple and focused — otah-otah in original and occasionally other flavours, sold by the piece or in convenient bundles for takeaway. The brand has built a loyal following over decades, with many Singaporeans growing up on its familiar taste. Whether as a side dish to nasi lemak or a snack on its own, it remains a go-to for otah lovers. Next time you spot a Hougang Otah stall, grab a few pieces and savour that smoky, spicy bite. It is a taste of heritage that continues to win new fans.Based on 9 Google reviews

Solid Otah to satisfy the occasional craving. I like spicier and more savoury flavour profile and this place matches my taste bud just right.

I really like the fish otah.

The boss of this otah otah store was very friendly and the variety of otah that is available here is great as well! The price for a piece of otah itself is also very cheap and the shrimp otah was a nice choice! Very rare to find otak otak place these days so I love the fact that this can be found here.
